Twilight co-stars
Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart
have spent innumerable late nights together at clubs since filming began
on the movie's sequel, New Moon, in Vancouver, British
Columbia. But on May 13, they took the next step in their relationship:
meeting the parents! Kristen bonded with Rob's folks, Richard
and Clare Pattinson, over Kobe beef meatballs during
the actor's 23rd birthday dinner at Glowbal Grill & Satay Bar in
Vancouver. "Kristen and Rob have amazing chemistry," their co-star
Elizabeth Reaser told Life & Style at The Bash
charity event on May 17 in LA. "They're great together."
That's bad news for the actress' longtime boyfriend, Michael
Angarano. He visited the Vancouver set of New Moon twice since
March, but it did little to keep Rob and Kristen from strengthening
their connection. "It's intense when you do such an intense project,"
Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke told Life &
Style at the ASCAP Awards in LA on May 11. "Robert and Kristen are
interested in each other, like a fascination."
And it's been that way from the very start. "To decide who was going to
be Edward, I had chemistry reads over at my house on my bed," Catherine
tells Life & Style, "and when it was Rob and Kristen together,
you could just tell ... this is it."

Twilight: New Moon' Gets New Cast Member
Michael Sheen, the actor best known for playing Tony Blair and David
Frost in the Oscar-nominated films The Queen and Frost/Nixon, has been added to the cast of the
Twilight sequel New Moon.
When Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) reluctantly moved to
the perpetually overcast town of Forks, WA, and set out to carve a niche
for herself, she assumed it would be one similar to the low-profile
social position she held back in Phoenix. First on the list of surprises
was the unfamiliar attention from the male population of her new high
school; second, the attention from one male in particular: Edward
Cullen, Vampire (Robert Pattinson). Before long, the unlikely soul mates
find themselves in a passionate relationship with a variety of
significant setbacks, including Edward's special-needs diet (he doesn't
eat humans, but Bella's scent inspires a nearly impossible to harness
bloodlust) and the human girl's mortality. Though things proceed
relatively smoothly at first (Edward even introduces Bella to his
adoptive vampire family), a visiting vampire clan consisting of James
(Cam Gigandet), Victoria (Rachelle Lefevre), and Laurent (Edi Gathegi)
catches Bella's unique scent and threatens the young couple's budding,
if dangerous, happiness. James, known for his powerful tracking ability,
becomes obsessed with making Bella his next victim. Fearing for Bella's
safety and that of her loved ones, the Cullens must combine their
collective talents in order to stop the highly predatory James before
his goal is accomplished. ~ Tracie Cooper, All Movie Guide
"Twilight" took moviegoers on a magical trip into the world of
vampires, but
director Catherine Hardwicke will pierce the film's fantasy
bubble in a new book detailing how it was made.
Little,
Brown Books for
Young Readers, the division of
Hachette Book Group,
will release "Twilight: Director's Notebook" on March 17, the company
said on Wednesday.
The book is timed to take advantage of the hype
surrounding the vampire romance movie as its DVD comes out on March 21.
In the book, Hardwicke reveals details about
casting, location scouting, wardrobe and her favorite scenes. The book
also has behind-the-scenes photos and storyboard sketches, and is
designed to replicate the director's own personal notebook she kept on
set.
Hardwicke has been replaced as director of the
"Twilight" sequel "New
Moon," which is due out November 20, from
director Chris Weitz, who made fantasy "The
Golden Compass" in 2007.
Independent studio
Summit Entertainment
took the film industry
by surprise with its runaway success on "Twilight," which has made
$341.2 million worldwide since its November 21 release, according to
tracking firm Box Office
Mojo.
The movie is based on a series of "Twilight" books
popular with girls and young women from author
Stephenie Meyer.
Little, Brown Books said that it will print 500,000
copies of "Twilight: Director's Notebook" on first printing.

Twilight 2 Pack (Edward & Bella) From NECA!
Coming Soon from NECA is the 7" Edward
With Sunglasses & Bella 2 Pack!
New Moon, the sequel to 2008’s
blockbuster hit, Twilight, looks set to be a star-studded
event, with big names like
Vanessa Hudgens and
Dakota Fanning reportedly signing on in
supporting roles.
If you can remember a time
before all of the hype - I know, it’s a difficult task - most of the
actors who joined Stephenie Meyer’s maiden film adaptation were
unknowns, not because the studio wanted to pick young stars from
obscurity, but because the tiny budget wouldn’t allow for the inclusion
of any “big” stars.
Now, however, with Twilight’s record-breaking
haul at the box office, the budget for the forth-coming sequel has
skyrocketed (hence the inclusion of the big guns).
According to the rumour mill, Hudgens has been
approached to play the werewolf hybrid Leah (which is unusual that she
should be included, given Leah’s absence in the second book), something
which has angered fans of the series, who believe Hudgens’ limited
repertoire will destroy the film.
Whether the Hudgens rumour is on the level or not -
and I’d say not, at this point - it’s highly likely that child star
Dakota Fanning will portray the petite Italian vampire, Jane.
If Fanning does decide to take on the role of Jane,
I’ve no doubt she’ll do the character justice. As annoying as her
squeaky little voice can be at times, the kid can certainly act.
Though, she does have some competition in the
child-vampire stakes.
Kirsten Dunst’s outstanding performance
as a vampire child in the cult hit Interview With a Vampire way
back in
Tom Cruise’s less crazy days has
certainly set the bar high for Ms. Fanning. If she can top Dunst’s
portrayal, she’ll be doing well.
When you can live forever, what do you live for?” Straight from the
hit Twilight motion picture, NECAonline brings you Edward Cullen. This
7” action figure comes packaged with the “Cullen” family crest and 10
points of articulation. Edward sports his trademark scowl he’s been
recognized for since his 1918 transformation. The trademark scowl on his
face solidifies his position as a self-proclaimed antihero. Edward is
hitting shelves now and can truly “live forever” in your collection.
An “Edward and Bella” Two-Pack will be available later this Spring.
Take a look at our official “Edward” images and keep checking back with
NECAonline for more Twilight information. We will solicit any Twilight
news as it becomes available.
More fuel for the rumor that has High School Musical star
Vanessa Hudgens cast as werewolf Leah
Clearwater in
Twilight sequel New Moon: Twilight's
Ashley Greene, who plays Alice Cullen,
told MTV at a Golden Globes afterparty
that Hudgens has actually auditioned for the role. "I think she'd be
great," MTV quotes Greene as saying of Hudgens. EW has not yet been able
to confirm the report, but rest assured, we're on it.

Few can claim a supporting role in the Harry Potter series and then go
on to open their own franchise wide and loud once the latest of those
films shuffled off their November turf. Center to all this madness is
Pattinson, complete with perpetual pout and glittery skin. It's enough
to make you trample one another in a San Francisco mall, just to kiss
the ground he practically glided over.

There will be a new director atop the Twilight
franchise: and he'll be a man. Sources tell EW.com that Summit
Entertainment is about to hire Chris Weitz (The Golden Compass)
as the shepherd for New Moon, the second installment of
Stephenie Meyer's best-selling Twilight series. Weitz is
best-known for his work with his brother Paul. The two directed and
produced American Pie and then were nominated for an
Academy Award for best screenplay for About a Boy, which
they also co-directed. Chris' first solo directing gig, The
Golden Compass, didn't do well stateside but was a hit
internationally.

Twilight Cracks $175 Million Mark!
According to
BoxOfficeMojo.com, Twilight took has
now taken in $175,751,595 WorldWide in just 20 Days! It is also now the
13th Highest Grossing Domestic film in 2008 and has a good chance of
cracking the top 10 before it's done in theaters.
Yes, he's had tremendous success working with tweens and teens (About
A Boy as director and writer, American Pie as
producer and uncredited director). But Chris Weitz also did The
Golden Compass (as writer and director), and my source says
Summit Entertainment liked the look of that even if it didn't heat up
the domestic box office (but did better overseas). I don't have official
confirmation yet that this Twilight sequel offer has
gone out to Weitz.
But my insider says another reason it came down is because Weitz and
Summit's president of production Eric Feig are longtime pals. The source
tells me Weitz is "still considering" the offer to helm New Moon
and possibly also Eclipse if the sequel and threequel
movie adaptations of Stephenie Meyer's series of vampire books are made
back-to-back. But let's also not forget Weitz's behavior on
Golden Compass. On December 15, 2004,
Weitz announced his resignation as director of the trilogy, citing
the enormous technical challenges of the epic and later admitting he was
worried about dissing by the book's fans. After another helmer came on
and then walked off, Weitz returned to direct saying he'd done "a lot of
growing in the interim". Despite all that, Summit seems willing to put
its first valuable franchise in his hands.
